In stores now - Batman: The Brave and the Bold TPB

Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Emerald Knight is now available in stores. This book collects the last 4 issues of Batman: The Brave and the Bold that Eric and I produced and includes appearances by The Huntress, Mister Camera, Plastic Man, The Scarecrow, Wonder Woman, The Lady Blackhawks, King Rex and the Dinosaur Gang, The menace known as Robert, The Martian Manhunter, Doctor Fate, The Dreaded Y'gg Phu Soggoth (Egg Fu), and the first full comic book appearance of the 1960's TV series villian Egghead! It also includes our Green Lantern story which was called "Best Single issue of the Year" over at CBR . Here's the original covers for the stories we produced for this book. The last cover is the one they used for the collection. Probably because Green Lantern is on it and I hear he might be in some movie or something. There's also another great Batman/Green Lantern team-up written by Adam Shlagman that's alot of fun, and a story where Batman gets his leg b...

Production Art - Wonder Woman and Teen Titans

I haven't posted any of Eric's production art in a while. And to be fair, there isn't usually as much generated for Batman: The Brave and the Bold as there is for something like Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures. Usually. In the case of our latest issue, with guest stars Wonder Woman, the Teen Titans, and enemies Nocturna, Egghead and Y'gg Phu Soggoth (Egg Fu) there was a bit of design work that needed to be done. And we wanted to try to match what might be done with Wonder Woman on the show. Long story short, we had reason to assume Diana would be presented fairly close to her 1950's self. So we altered our or...

Batman: The Brave and the Bold

Well, it's in the new Previews catalog, so I guess I can finally announce what Eric and I have been working on since we wrapped up Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures... We'll be doing some issues of Batman: The Brave and the Bold . A comic series based off of the current animated series. A funny thing about this book for Eric and myself: We had actually spent a bit of time before San Diego ComicCon last year formulating a pitch for an all-ages reinterpretation of Batman based off a combination of the 1940's Dick Sprang art style and the 1960's television series. We then arrived at ComicCon to see images everywhere of this cartoon series and immediately scrapped the proposal. And now we're doing a comic that is fundamentally the same as the series we spent the summer quietly creating. Strange world. Our intention with this series is to capture the feel of the cartoon rather than literally interpret the style of the animated series onto a comic book page. Comics and animat...
