SDCC 2013 Signings and Zombee Cakes book!

Hey internet. I'll be set up at San Diego Comic-Con 2013. My general home will be booth 1815 with SLG Publishing - that's right across from the massive DC Entertainment booth. I will also be at th e Image Comics booth (2729) with limited edition Danger Club prints. THURS 12-1 FRI 10-12 SAT 10-11 SUN 12-1. Additionally, my tiny publishing imprint Idiot Ink has a new book out by my wife. Bee Adams has been painting her Zombie Cupcakes (Zombeecakes) for several years now, but this is here first book. Zombee Cupcakes - A Tale of Tummyaches. She will be selling and signing the book at the SLG Booth at various times of the day. Here's the entire book. Danger Club #5 - Preview!

Alright. The book is late, and we're doing everything we can to ensure that it's lateness ends. In the meantime, here's some pages - as usual, illustrated by Eric Jones and colored by Rusty Drake with flatting assists by Pannel Vaughn. Oh, and written by me - Landry Q. Walker. Rise of the Dead - our lost zombie story.

So, several years ago (maybe 2002?) Eric Jones, Ivan Merritt and I sat down to work on a zombie story. This was the result - Rise of the Dead - a pitch designed for either a comic series or a TV show. Eric and I had been producing zombie stories since the mid-90's (though only a few were published). This collaboration on what had been a mostly ignored genre of horror culminated in the editing of a zombie anthology comic for SLG Publishing titled Zombie-O-rama. We wanted to go further with this series, but it sadly was never picked up as a comic. We made a small bit of headway on having it produced in animation, but an agent we were working with at the time dismissed zombies as a dead end and ultimately vanished while working on this and our Little Gloomy option with 1492. We resolved our option with 1492 without an agent and saved the 10%. Sadly, we never were able to generate any further interest in Rise of the Dead.
